Welcome to the new rozilla.com. I felt the need to compress a bit, focus on
a few things.
Me
I have just finished postpartum doula training at the Center For the Childbearing Year. I am beginning to get that business underway while still doing some freelance web design: Trillum is a site I designed. I've also started taking courses
through Ancient Art Midwifery in 39 months give or take I will be a homebirth midwife. This is something I feel strongly 'called' to do. I am re-teaching myself the trumpet too.
I've also started a non-profit group dedicated to
supporting women who've had c-sections and advocating for VBAC.
Parts:
I am a voracious reader: Henry Miller, Edward Abbey, Henry Rollins, Kurt Vonnegut, Bruce Sterling, William Gibson, Hunter S. Thompson, Octavia Butler, Travel short stories,
Series of Unfortunate Events, geek books, midwifery books, fluff books, Jim Harrison the list is long. Make me hap hap happy.
Music is fundamental: I listen to Leonard Cohen, JCash, NPR, Ani DiFranco, Black Flag, Kristy MacColl, Tori, Social D,
Beasties, Prince, 80's, Miles Davis, AC/DC . The list is long and I'm always looking for new old music.
I have two children, here is Lydia at 5 days.
I collect tattoos (new tattoos: uv reactive orange star on my big toe and the words 'Joyful' in a cool script called 'A yummy apology' with a heart and star) and vintage fabric. I have been fascinated for some time with mixing vintage
with new new things. Steampunk. Fake hair. Tattoos. Political Activism. Thunderstorms. Comics (Sandman, Doom Patrol and more), Chagall. Simplicity. Writing (I have a book in progress I hope to self publish in the next year of prose). If I had to describe myself I would say that I was a left handed, left leaning, quirky, eccentric optimist with a passionate side. If I was lying I'd say that I had lots of patience, too. I miss my dear friend, who married a Canadian and move away, here we are during our glory days. Miss you J! Yes those are backstage passes, no it wasnt to anything we were particularly interested, lots of band at Phoenix Plaza, ie: parking lot - Slipknot headlining. Oy!
Miles and his Strongbad shirt. They
are the center of my universe, I am grateful to be their Mom, they are wonderous incredible invididuals.
